MVD Entertainment Group is seeking a highly self motivated freelance designer for off-site work. Primary duty would be designing DVD and CD packaging for punk, reggae, rock, jazz, blues and hip hop music artists.

Candidate should have a thorough understanding of design and its principals, as well as a keen knowledge of typography, a clean design aesthetic and the ability to handle multiple projects at any given time. Candidates will be required to see jobs through from initial creative brainstorming to completion. Quick and precise production skills are a must. 4+ years of experience in print and production is required.

Candidates must be very talented, versatile individuals who can help us on an as needed basis. Candidates must also possess excellent time management and organizational skills. Must be able to work within a fast turn-around situation and take direction well. Multi-tasking, communication skills, attention to detail and adhering to deadlines are CRUCIAL skills for this position.

NOTE: This is not a part-time or full-time position. Work would be on a per-project basis as needed.

• Position requires a minimum of 4 years experience with intensive print production.
• Knowledge of Illustrator CS2, Photoshop CS2, and Indesign CS2.
• Excellent proofreader with a sharp eye for detail.
• Superior written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Communicates well with clients.
• Fresh ideas, a unique perspective and sense of humor.
• A portfolio exhibiting a strong creative ability with diversity of style appropriate to each project, unique in its solutions and with flawless execution.
• Ability to generate multiple and distinct design concepts.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and ready to take on new tasks.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of taking direction and executing someone else's vision quickly and precisely.
• Understand and implement creative briefs.
• Proactive in finding solutions on their own.
• Work efficiently within a busy environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Support brand guidelines by working with existing style guides.
• Knowledge of pre-press processes.
• Organized and thorough.
• Experience with the Music or Entertainment Industries is a plus.
